Possibilities are all around us
As we build our new kind of Rotary for the 21st Century, we want to help build sustainable communities; we believe that Social Enterprises, Social Firms and local businesses are key to building strong and caring places we live in. Our Rotary will offer opportunities to promote, network, grow ethically and encourage the ability to evolve enterprise amongst our members and within our communities. Please keep the date of the Wednesday 21st March, 2018 in Winchester, Unwrapping Social Enterprise – Helping to Grow a Market Place. We are working in partnership with Action Hampshire, CEO The Suzy Lamplugh Trust, PALS Society. Come and learn more about Social Enterprise in Hampshire and surrounding counties, how Social Firms can offer real jobs and opportunities to people in communities and once you have the understanding help us to work to build economic and sustainable communities. More information soon.
We turn great ideas into action
It was brilliant that this week Monty’s Bike Hub were able to join our Interact Club at TSTC and share their experience of Social Enterprise work in Sholing, inspire our members about re-cycling bikes and general give encouragement to our young innovators.
Can you please help this initiative – we are looking for some donated bikes, that our interactors can work on, so as to generate some funds to buy in the services of Monty’s Bike Hub to offer Bicycle Safety Checks to all the pupils in TSTC.
Rotary Social Innovation is all about….
…. helping our community through projects like Let’s Hear in Portsmouth, helping Portsmouth becoming a Dementia Action Alliance, raising issues in different ways through our Theatre Innovation project.
We are always looking for new things to do and we want to do this in partnership with others, like build awareness of communities adopting the Social Model of Disability and working collaboratively with Toucan-Diversity. we would like to encourage people in the community, businesses and organisations to go on their current training courses.
Conservation, Re-cycling and Environmentally friendly projects are something we want to work on in partnership with others across our community, to encourage better housekeeping of this wonderful world we live in. Watch out for new things to get involved in, like on the 3rd March a Beach Clear Up in Lee on Solent.
We are so please to be part of the Rotary International network, who do some amazing things through its charity The Rotary Foundation.
Can we help on the 23rd February, Rotary’s Birthday, do more to help with the eradication of Polio?
